Kidnapped Toddler Reunited With Family After 32 Years
After 32 long years, a man who was kidnapped as a toddler has been reunited with his biological parents. Mao Yin was taken from his parents outside of a hotel in China back in 1988 when he was two years old. He was then sold to a couple with no children, according to Chinese state-broadcaster CCTV.
His biological parents never stopped looking for him and in April, police received a tip-off about a man who had bought a child in the late 1980s. Police used facial recognition technology to analyze an old photo of Mao as a toddler and simulated an image of him as an adult and used that to locate him. A DNA test confirmed it was him and the 34-year-old recently got to hug his parents for the first time in three decades and all three of them broke down in tears.
Mao says he’s planning to move so he can live with his biological mother and father. His mom, Li Jingzhi, says, “I don’t want him to leave me anymore.”
