CYBILL SHEPHERD: Says Les Moonves Canceled Show After She Rejected Him

Cybill Shepherd says her mid-'90s sitcom was canceled after she refused a sexual advance from then CBS head honcho Les Moonves.

On SiriusXM’s The Michelle Collins Show, Shepherd said she had dinner with the exec "and he was telling me his wife didn’t turn him on, some mistress doesn’t turn him on and I’m watching him drink alcohol. He says, ‘Well, why don’t you let me take you home?’ And I said ‘No, I’ve got a ride.’ And I had my car outside with a good, good friend of mine who was an off-duty LAPD officer.”

Soon after, she says, Moonves started sending her show Cybill -- which aired from 1995 to 1998 -- critical notes.

Shepherd says had she accepted his advance, the show "would have run another five years.”

Earlier this year, Moonves stepped down as CBS chief executive after several women accused him of sexual misconduct.

CBS Paid A Secret Settlement To Actress In The Series “Bull” - Investigators CBS hired to uncover Les Moonves have found a secret payment to an actress over harassment claims.

Eliza Dushku, who was tapped to be a series regular, complained to CBS brass that she was embarrassed by Michael Weatherly during filming, including calling her “legs”. Weatherly, for his part, apologized for not thinking before speaking. ”When Eliza told me that she wasn’t comfortable with my language and attempt at humor, I was mortified to have offended her and immediately apologized. After reflecting on this further, I better understand that what I said was both not funny and not appropriate and I am sorry and regret the pain this caused Eliza.”

Dushku was paid the amount her contract would have lasted has she finished the contractual time, which came out to 9.5 million dollars.
