GEORGE H.W. BUSH: Funeral Plans
This week the nation will mourn former President George H.W. Bush, who died at home in Houston on Friday night at the age of 94.
The 41st president will lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C. beginning Monday afternoon through Wednesday. According to the Architect of the Capitol's website, Bush will be the 12th president and 35th person to be honored in such a manner.
Wednesday has been declared a national day of mourning by Donald Trump. A state funeral for Bush will be held that morning at the Washington National Cathedral.
On Thursday, a funeral service will be held for Bush at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston. After, his casket will be transported by train to College Station, Texas where a procession will travel to the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
He'll be buried behind the library complex in the family plot next to his wife, former first lady, Barbara, and their daughter, Robin. (USA Today)
The Camp Fire’s Missing persons List Is At 25 -
The number of people missing in the deadly Camp Fire in Northern California has been reduced to just 25 people.
The wildfire killed 88 people, making it the deadliest fire in a century. The missing person's list was once well over one thousand, because many people hadn't contacted authorities after the evacuation.
Recovery efforts have been hampered by recent rains and evacuees have been told they can now return to some of the burned areas.

Quatar Announces Its Exit From OPEC -
Qatar [[ CUTT-er ]] is pulling out of OPEC.
The Gulf state's energy minister says the country will quit the 15-member cartel of oil-producing nations next month. The minister told reporters at a news conference in Doha the country is making the move to focus on increasing its natural gas production.
Qatar is the biggest liquefied natural gas exporter in the world, but has been a small player in the oil industry and there will be no large repercussion from the country’s exit.
The CDC Is Investigating Spike In AFM Cases
- More than 100 people are suffering from a polio-like condition that's left some children partially paralyzed.
The CDC is now investigating 286 suspected cases of the disease called acute flaccid myelitis in 2018. The 116 confirmed cases are spread across 31 states in the U.S. AFM leads to muscle weakness or paralysis caused by damage to the spinal cord, usually from viruses. It is not directly linked to polio or to vaccines.
The age group most affected is children under age 18, with the average being five.
There were only 33 cases of AFM last year. The CDC says most of the children with confirmed cases experienced a viral illness with symptoms including fever and cough about three to 10 days before the onset of paralysis.Colorado and Texas have the highest amount of cases.
ISIS Responsible For American Army Ranger Killing Is Dead -
An ISIS leader involved in killing an American aid worker is dead.
The U.S.-led coalition says a strike over the weekend killed a terrorist leader tied to the death of former U.S. Army Ranger Peter Kassig [[ Kay-sig ]]. The 26-year-old was captured in Syria in 2013 and was beheaded by ISIS a year later. A coalition spokesman says the ISIS leader tied to Kassig's murder was directly involved in executing a number of other prisoners.
