Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps As No One Wins -

No one woke up a mega millionaire today. But you have another shot!

The Mega Millions jackpot is skyrocketing after no one scored the main prize yesterday. At 868 million, it's now the second largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The cash option on that is 494 million dollars but the odds are pretty high at roughly one in 260-million.

The last time somebody won was back in July. The next drawing comes Friday at 11 pm Eastern. You’ll have until an hour before the drawing to buy those tickets.

Report: Robert Mueller Is Set To Release Key Russia Investigation Findings -

We may have answers to the Russia probe by special counsel Robert Mueller right after the mid-term elections.  “Bloomberg” is reporting that Mueller is prepared to issue key findings next month, but there’s a catch. Regulations say that he must give the report to his boss, Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein. That means they aren’t necessarily going to be shared with the public. It will be up to Rosenstein as to what is shared publicly and with Congress.

“Bloomberg” also notes that a source says Mueller is close to rendering judgment on two of the most explosive aspects of his inquiry: whether there were clear incidents of collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, and whether the president took any actions that constitute obstruction of justice.

Texas Floods Have Turned Deadly -

At least one person is dead following flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

Burnet County officials say the body was discovered yesterday in the Colorado River. Catastrophic flooding has been reported in the region with evacuations ordered along the Llano River. Evacuations have also been ordered for Marble Falls, Highland Haven, and Horseshoe Bay near Lake LBJ. Water levels there are expected to exceed 1903s records.

People are being urged to stay away from high water areas and to turn around and not drown. Rain is expected to fall on Central Texas most of the week. That prompted Liberty County emergency management officials warn that they're estimating water levels in the Trinity River to rise to around 30 feet, just two feet lower than the levels after Hurricane Harvey.

They haven't ordered any evacuations yet, but officials said they're working with the Red Cross in case they have to set up a shelter. Multiple water rescues have been reported throughout the region. Rain has been pouring down on Central Texas since Monday and is expected to go on the rest of the week.

Police Open Investigation Of Babies’ Bodies Found In Funeral Home Ceiling -

Detroit police are opening a criminal investigation into the finding of the remains of ten fetuses and an infant that were hidden in the ceiling of a former Detroit funeral home.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said they are investigating a felony allegation of failing to properly supervise the final disposition of a human body. He also said 10 of the bodies were fetuses and one an infant.

It's not clear how long the remains were in the attic of the former Cantrell Funeral Home before its mortuary license was suspended.

An anonymous letter led investigators to discovering the bodies. The county prosecutor and state attorney general are involved in the case.

Meanwhile a woman who questions whether the ashes given to her by the funeral home are really her husband’s is suing the closed parlor for one million dollars.
