ELIZABETH SMART: Kidnapper Freed

One of Elizabeth Smart's kidnappers was released from a Utah prison yesterday after completing her sentence for taking part in the 2002 kidnapping.

72-year-old Wanda Barzee walked out of the Utah State Prison, six years earlier than expected because the state had miscalculated her time spent in various other institutions. Elizabeth Smart, who was 14 when Barzee and her husband, Brian David Mitchell, snatched her out of her bedroom, has spoken out about Barzee's release and says she fears for her life and the safety of her kids.

Mitchell is serving life without parole. Smart says law enforcement has assured her that Barzee will be watched very closely and will return to federal prison "as soon as she messes up." (USA Today)

President Trump Is Not Happy With AG Sessions -

President Trump is making it obvious that he is very disappointed in his attorney general, Jeff Sessions.

He made the remark outside the White House yesterday. In an earlier interview with Hill.TV [[ hill-dot-TV ]], Trump said he has "no attorney general" and called the situation with Sessions "very sad." Trump remains angry at Sessions for recusing himself in the Russia investigation.

Sessions did so because of his role as a top adviser in Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Speculation about Trump firing Sessions has been growing but likely would not happen until after November's midterm elections. If the president does make a move to remove Sessions, it would set up a fight between some Republicans and the White House.

Investigation Alleges Ticketmaster Is Helping Scalpers -

Canada’s CBC and the “Toronto Star” allege that Ticketmaster has been running a secret scalping scheme.

Music fans’ anger at expensive concert tickets may get worse. The two outlets used undercover journalists to act as scalpers and apparently Ticketmaster pitched them on its underground professional resale program, which it profits from.

The Live Nation owned ticket seller looks like it enlists resellers to grab batches of tickets from its site and then flip them for higher prices on a Ticketmaster-owned, invite-only platform called TradeDesk. A company rep, according to the report, told one of the undercover journalists that there are brokers with “literally a couple of hundred accounts” on TradeDesk, and that it’s “not something that we look at or report.”

Ticketmaster has sued over the use of bots, but apparently supplied the software to scalpers. Ticketmaster hasn’t commented on the story.

Fireworks will surely follow from artists and Attorneys General.

Police Officers Are Shot In Separate Incidents Across The Country -

At least five police officers were shot on Wednesday in three separate encounters across the nation.

Two officers in Prince George's County, Maryland are in stable condition at a Baltimore hospital. The officers were serving a drug related search warrant when they were fired upon. The suspect turned himself in.

In Los Angeles, deputies got into a shootout and two were injured there. One suspect is dead and two others are in custody after a guy was pointing a gun at passersby while sitting in a vehicle. The deputies are in serious but stable condition.

And as we told you earlier, in Masontown, Pennsylvania police shot and killed a suspect who was allegedly firing at people outside a judge’s office. One officer was among the four people injured in that case.

PA Man Wanted For Killing Parents And Firing At Ex-Wife Is Now Dead -

A finalized divorce yesterday may have driven a man to go on a shooting spree.

The Chester County man wanted for killing his parents and shooting at his ex-wife is dead. The county DA announced yesterday afternoon that Glenmoore resident Bruce Rogal was killed, and that he was dead before police made contact with him.

Rogal allegedly fired at his ex-wife yesterday, missing as she stood in the driveway of her West Bradford Township home changing her car’s oil. He then drove to the Bellingham Retirement Community where he reportedly shot his mother and father to death before fleeing the scene.

Then the drama ended when the chase ended on the street where he shot his ex. Rogal was dead as police swarmed his vehicle.
