HGTV And “Brady House” Remodel Producers Send Letter And Cookies To Neighbors -
It’s been speculated that neighbors of the “Brady House” were unsettled by HGTV buying the famed home.
In a move to calm nerves and make peace, HGTV and Lando Entertainment, who is producing the series on the house’s remodeling, sent a letter answering questions and giving a great amount of detail to the residents. They also threw in a box of gourmet cookies.
Nice move and very “Brady-like.” Besides the SusieCakes, the letter was well thought out. Lando offered the name of an exec neighbors can hit up to voice concerns about the project. The company says the exec will be available to "field questions, address problems, resolve issues and generally serve as your conduit to the production company."
You can read the full letter here.
BRAD PITT: Accused of Building Shoddy Homes in New Orleans
Brad Pitt's charitable foundation has been sued for allegedly building shoddy homes in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, according to USA Today.
More than 100 homeowners in the Lower Ninth Ward, one of the neighborhoods most damaged by the 2005 hurricane, filed a proposed class-action lawsuit last week. They accuse the actor and his Make It Right foundation of unfair trade practices, breach of contract and fraud. They also say he knew about the problem for a decade but did nothing to fix the problems, such as mold, poor design and substandard construction and materials.
In a statement to USA Today, the star said, “An extensive review of the homes began just after the tenth anniversary of Katrina (in 2015). Thanks to the dedication of the MIR team, we have been coordinating repairs of homes experiencing problems since early 2018 and have total faith in the team on the ground to see this through. I made a promise to the folks of the Lower Ninth to help them rebuild – it is a promise I intend to keep.”
The homeowners lawyer, Ron Austin, tells USA Today the "tragedy" is that Pitt's effort to help the flooded Lower Ninth after Katrina showed his "heart was in the right place" but his foundation has been "almost an epic failure."

Jimmy Fallon And Justin Bieber Drop A Musical Photobomb On Central Park - It was just a normal day in Central Park yesterday. People walking around enjoying the day and two guys in bad Blues Brothers outfits performing outrageous dance moves.
Of course, those two were Jimmy Fallon and Justin Bieber. It was both hilarious and cool. New Yorkers showed how jaded they were by walking past some of the craziness Fallon was throwing down. Then they took their costumes off.
See the video for yourself. It is priceless.
LENA DUNHAM: Apologizes for "Fat Is Not Beautiful" Sweatshirts
Lena Dunham has apologized for creating a line of sweatshirts emblazoned with the slogan “Being fat is not beautiful. It’s an excuse.”
Understandably, there was a huge outcry after plus-size model Tess Holiday shared an image of the ad.
In her defense, Dunham took to Instagram to explain that the sweatshirts were meant to reclaim "the words of Internet trolls to celebrate the beauty in diversity and bodies and experiences that aren’t the industry norm." And since the clothing company Revolve "presented the sweatshirts on thin white women," the point was lost.
Revolve has pulled the ad, according to TMZ, but not before the $168 sweatshirts sold out.

JULIE CHEN: Stands by Her Man, Les Moonves
Julie Chen ended her hiatus from CBS and made it abundantly clear she fully supports her husband, Leslie Moonves [pr: MOON-vez]. CBS forced Moonves to step down as CEO. Over a dozen women accused him sexual misconduct.
Julie returned to host the CBS reality series Big Brother. At the end of last night’s episode, she signed off, (quote) “I am Julie Chen Moonves. Good night.”
Never before in her professional career had Julie Chen used his name.
When the allegations against her first surfaced in July, Chen tweeted, (quote) “I have known my husband, Leslie Moonves, since the late ’90s, and I have been married to him for almost 14 years. He has always been a kind, decent and moral human being. I fully support my husband.” (Entertainment Weekly)
Talk About It:
- Only five days ago, the Moonves name held significantly more clout.
- She won’t file for divorce until his $100 million golden parachute is deposited and CBS won’t write that check before an independent investigation is done.
- The Board of Directors cleaned house with Moonves’s departure.
- Her days with CBS may be numbered, too.
- What’s that old country tune? “Stand By Your Man.” Julie Chen probably sings it in the shower.
JON HAMM: Interested in Playing Batman
Could Jon Hamm be the next Batman? With rumors that Ben Affleck is on the way out, the former Mad Men star expressed interest in taking on the role.
In a recent interview with sports journalist Graham Bensinger, Hamm said that he has not had any official conversation with Warner Brothers, but he would "probably fit the suit."
The actor added, "I'd have to work out a lot, which I don't love. I am sure there's an interesting version of that being out there and if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not? It depends...on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been...it depends on the story. It all comes down to the story."
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that there could be a new Superman. On Wednesday, The Hollywood Reporter said Henry Cavill will not play the Man of Steel anymore. In response, the British actor posted an odd Instagram video showing him wearing a T-shirt that said "Krypton Lifting Team" while slowly revealing an action figure of himself as Superman. He wrote, "Today was exciting #Superman."
In a statement to E! News, a Warner Bros. spokesperson said that "no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films."
