“Fox and Friends” Host Slammed For Transgender Comment:
“Fox and Friends” host Ainsley Earhardt is being slammed on social media for how she referred to the first openly transgendered candidate to be nominated by a major party in the U.S.
As we previously told you, Christine Hallquist made history Tuesday when she won the Democratic primary for governor in Vermont, but when reporting on it Earhardt referred to the candidate as “that transgender,” and then appeared to mock the campaign, because one of Hallquist’s opponents was a teenager.
Well, Earhardt’s comment didn’t go unnoticed, with many slamming her on Twitter, including Chelsea Clinton, who tweeted, “Her name is Christine Hallquist,” and then linked to the candidate’s site.
“Did I miss the tweet congratulating the nation's first transgender candidate to win a party's Gubernatorial primary?,” one person added, “The one the blonde on Fox & Friends this morning actually called "the transgender"?” Another noted, “That. Transgender. Wow. Fox with the respect and class. Not.”
Manafort Trial Headed To Jury:
The trial of former Donald Trumpcampaign manager Paul Manafort is headed to the jury today. Manafort faces 18 criminal counts of bank fraud and tax evasion, although none of the charges stem from his time with Trump. If found guilty on all counts, he could face rest of his life behind bars.
Manofort did not take the stand in his own defense, and his lawyers chose not to call any witnesses. They did ask jurors to question the prosecution’s case, suggesting they didn’t prove their client willfully broke the law. Meanwhile, prosecutors insisted the case boils down to “Mr. Manafort and his lies." They claim that between 2010 and 2014 he hid at least $16 million in income from the IRS.
