Car Crashes Into Barriers Outside Parliament

London police say a man was arrested after crashing his car into security barriers outside the Houses of Parliament during this morning’s rush hour.

The incident occurred at the same location as the March 2017 terror attack in which a man a drove his car across Westminster Bridge and stabbed a police officer to death. In total five people were killed. This time, while police say “a number of pedestrians" were injured, none of those injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Pictures and bystander video shows cops surrounding a wrecked silver sedan at the scene, and pointing their guns through the driver’s side window. Some Twitter accounts say the car drove through cyclists before hitting the barrier.

Firefighter dies battling California wildfire

A firefighter battling California’s Mendocino Complex Fire was killed Monday, the first death attributed to the largest wildfire in the state’s history. According to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Chief Sean Kavanaugh, the unidentified firefighter was from Utah, and was injured “working on an active portion of the fire.” He was airlifted to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

"We are extremely heartbroken from this loss,” Kavanaugh said. Lake County Sheriff Brian Martin added, "Today’s events are definitely a tragedy, and they’re not expected and they’re not wanted. But they’re a stark reminder of how dangerous this career is."

The Mendocino Complex fire began on July 27th and has scorched nearly 350,000 acres across the rural northern counties of Colusa, Lake and Mendocino. It is reportedly 68 percent contained, but has already destroyed 146 homes and 118 other buildings.

West Virginia Votes To Impeach All Four State Supreme Court Justices

The West Virginia House of Delegates has voted to impeach all four of their state Supreme Court Justices.

The House voted to impeach Justices Allen Loughry and Robin Davis because they used state funds to renovate their offices, while Chief Justice Margaret Workman and Davis are both accused of paying more than they are allowed to retired senior status judges. Also impeached was justice Elizabeth Walker.

All four justices currently sit on the Supreme Court of Appeals. A week ago, the House Judiciary Committee approved 14 articles of impeachment against them, accusing them of "maladministration, corruption, incompetency, neglect of duty."

The next step is for the justices’ case to move to the Senate, which will decide whether to remove them from office.

Amazon Close To Joining Apple In The Trillion Dollar Club

It looks like Apple may soon have company in the Trillion Dollar Club. Amazon is now reportedly worth $940 billion, moving it one step closer to joining Apple, who earlier this month became the first public company to hit a market value of one-trillion-dollars.

Amazon’s shares increased 2% yesterday, bringing it to an all-time high, and now they just need to go up another 7% to make it to a trillion dollars. According to analysts, Amazon’s sales are expected to go up 32% this year to $265 billion.

And Amazon isn’t the only company that’s close. Google owner Alphabet is now worth $875 billion, while Microsoft is at close to $840 billion.
