Florida Police Unions Calling For Miami Dolphins Boycott Over Anthem Kneeling:

Florida Police unions are urging their members not to buy tickets to any Miami Dolphins games in response to players kneeling during the National Anthem.

The Broward County, Dade County and Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Associations posted a message on their Facebook pages suggesting officers boycott the games after two players, Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson, kneeled during the anthem on Thursday.

The message notes that officers were offered discounts to the games, but the union said they only agreed to them because they were told the franchise would “honor all First Responders,” but claim that didn’t happen during the game because of the protest.

Grieving Orca Finally Releases Her Dead Calf:

A grieving Orca has finally released her dead calf after carrying it around Pacific Northwest’s waters for more than two weeks.

The whale, Tahlequah was finally seen swimming without her baby near San Juan Island off Washington’s coast on Saturday. According to Ken Balcomb, executive director of the Center for Whale Research, Tahlequah looked “vigorous and healthy” as she “frolicked” in the water.

Tahlequah anguish captured media attention after she was spotted with her dead calf, who passed not long after it was born on July 24th. The female calf was the first born alive since 2015, and her death is devastating to the Orca population, which is currently at just 75.
