Dresses that belonged to Marilyn Monroe will go on display before heading to auction.
Auction house Profiles in History announced that the items will be exhibited in Beverly Hills starting Aug. 18. An auction will follow in late October.
They include a photograph that Monroe signed to 20th Century Fox executive Ben Lyon that reads: “Dear Ben, You found me, named me and believed in me when no one else did. My thanks and love forever. Marilyn”
The photo was taken during the filming of “The Seven Year Itch,” the 1955 movie that provided history’s lasting image of Monroe, standing over a subway grate and holding down her white dress.
A version of the dress, made by the original designer Bill Travilla for Monroe for tours and exhibits, is also among the items up for sale, along with her hand-annotated script for the film.

Fashion brands might want to think twice before hiring Kim Kardashian as their spokesperson.
According to a report on celebrity endorsements from data-driven research firm Spotted, the 37-year-old reality star is the riskiest choice of ambassador for retail companies.
“Even though Kim Kardashian supports over 22 charities and causes, she lacks consumer trust and is perceived risky among consumers,” the marketing firm told Fashionista.
Spotted calculates a celebrity’s “risk score” by factoring in their past offensive behavior, political views and public scandals, along with how long it took for the star to bounce back from poor PR and the probability that similar polarizing incidents will occur again.
Macaulay Culkin passed up on the most successful show on TV -- and he has no regrets.
On Joe Rogan's podcast, the Home Alone star said he was asked three times to star in The Big Bang Theory. "It was kind of like, the way the pitch was, ‘Alright, these two astrophysicist nerds and a pretty girl lives with them. Yoinks!’ That was the pitch. And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m cool, thanks.’ And then they came back at me again, and I said, ‘No, no, no. Again, flattered, but no.’ Then they came back at me again, and even my manager was like twisting my arm."
Despite the success of the show, he doesn’t regret turning down the sitcom. Macaulay said, “I’d have hundreds of millions of dollars right now if I did that gig. At the same time, I’d be bashing my head against the wall.”
Big Bang Theory stars Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar all make $1 million an episode.
