Destination Moon

In the 1960s, President John F. Kennedy  ignited the spark that launched the program which landed and safely  returned the first person to set foot on the surface of the Moon. 

Now, as we approach the 49th  anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s momentous “one small step,” the  excitement of the space race comes to the Saint Louis Science Center for  Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission.

The traveling special exhibition from  the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services (SITES) and  the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.  features the command module Columbia that orbited the Moon, as well as other artifacts from the first successful lunar mission.

Kids Free Dental Day at Troy Family Dental

Dr. Richard Boatman & Dr. Jordan Spencer, from Troy Family Dental, are hosting their first annual Kid's Free Dental Day on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 8 am-1 pm. Their goal is to help the surrounding area children by providing free cleanings and fillings to the first 50 children (age 17 and under). 

Kid’s Free Dental Day is by appointment only. Patients can begin making appointments on Friday, July 13th beginning at 8:00 am. Appointments are a first come first serve basis. To make an appointment, call 618-667-8020.

There will be dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and other dental professionals donating their time and resources. Their goal is to provide free dental care to the families in the community who are in need of necessary dental care for their children.

Saint Louis Zoo - Jungle Boogie Concert Series

Join us for the Jungle Boogie Friday Night Concert Series presented by Mid America Chevy Dealers, Fridays, 5 to 8 p.m., May 25–August 31, 2018. Located at Schnuck Family Plaza in the center of the Zoo. Admission to Zoo and concerts is free. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair to ensure you have a seat. *The 2018 Whitaker St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase is an annual presentation of the nonprofit Cinema St. Louis, that serves as the area's primary venue for films made by local artists. The Showcase screens works that were written, directed, edited, or produced by St. Louis natives or films with strong local ties. The film programs that will screen from July 13-22 serve as the Showcase's centerpiece. The programs range from full-length fiction features and documentaries to multi-film compilations of fiction and documentary shorts. Programs with feature-length films include post-screening Q&As with filmmakers. The 2018 event will take place over two consecutive weekends in mid July at Brown Hall on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.
