All 12 youth football players and their coach are now reported to have been rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand after a three-day operation.

Reuters: Tenth Person Rescued From Cave -

Reuters is reporting that two more people were brought out of the caves in Thailand.

Rescuers were able to bring out two people today, and that last person to come will be a challenge due to their state, according to insiders. An international team of divers has been working for days to carry out the daring rescue mission. One former Thai Navy SEAL lost his life last week in an attempt to bring in oxygen to the trapped group.

The “Wild Boars” soccer team and their coach got trapped on June 23 when they set out to explore the vast cave complex after soccer practice, when a rainy season downpour flooded the tunnels.

Tropical Storm Chris Will Become A Hurricane Today -

Forecasters are keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Chris as it continues to get stronger.

Chris is currently churning off the North Carolina coast, where it's been for the last day or so. It is finally starting a push to the northeast. Forecasters don't expect Chris to threaten the U.S. at all as it moves northeast over the Atlantic. However, it will bring strong and potentially dangerous rip currents and high surf along the shore from the Carolinas to Maine for the next few days.

A dip in the jet stream with keep the storm from making landfall in the U.S.

Billionaire Elon Musk and his company SpaceX have designed a "kid-size submarine" that they've sent to Thailand to help with the rescue of the remaining young soccer players stuck in a cave there.

Musk tweeted on Monday, "Just returned from Cave 3. Mini-sub is ready if needed. It is made of rocket parts & named Wild Boar after kids' soccer team. Leaving here in case it may be useful in the future."

Musk posted video and photos of the rescue sub, including video of his team testing out the device in a Los Angeles swimming pool and simulating navigating the sub through the narrow passageways of the caves in Thailand.

As of Monday evening pacific time, eight members of the youth soccer team had been rescued after being stranded in the cave for more than two weeks. Four other boys as well as the team's 25-year-old coach were still awaiting rescue from the Tham Luang caves, which became flooded from heavy rains.

Talk About It:

  • Kudos to Musk for trying to come up with a quick solution to rescue the boys.
  • Even if it's too late for this rescue, perhaps the sub can be used in future, similar situations.
  • This real-life drama has gripped the world – maybe even more than World Cup Soccer

U.S. State Department: It’s Not Safe To Travel To Haiti -

The U.S. State Department has issued a strong travel advisory for Haiti. The country is now on the “Do Not Travel” list as there is growing unrest.

As it is, Americans already in Haiti are being warned to stay inside as violent demonstrations break out on the island nation. Some church groups, there on missions, are stuck at this point.

Protesters have been demonstrating against a sharp rise in fuel prices ordered by the government. The increase has since been suspended after protests turned deadly. About 120 Americans were among those trapped in a hotel in the capital of Port-au-Prince after protesters tried to set in on fire and storm the building. Police were able to keep the demonstrators out of the hotel.

The U.S. embassy told Americans on the island to not attempt to travel or drive through roadblocks, and to avoid any large gathering.
