ICYMI: Baylor Honors J.J. Watt With Doctorate -

Houston Texans star J.J. Watt has done a lot to help others in the last two years; helping raise millions for hurricane victims, paying for the funerals for victims of a Texas school shooting, and his under-the-radar charity work. Now his character has been rewarded.

The future hall of famer was conferred with a Doctorate of Humanities by Baylor University this weekend. After being given the honor, he spoke to the graduates of the School of Medicine and said “This is my challenge to you. Help bring out the inherent good in everyone around you.”

On Twitter, later Watt was obviously touched by the gesture saying, “"I've had a lot of dreams in my life, but not even I dreamt that I could one day become a Doctor," Watt posted to Twitter. "I am truly humbled and honored to receive the degree of Doctor of Humanities in Medicine from the Baylor College of Medicine!"

Episodes from the original nine-season run of “Roseanne” have been pulled from Viacom-owned cable channels Paramount Network, TV Land, and CMT, beginning Wednesady, Variety has learned. A Viacom representative declined to comment.

*Rosanne tweeted a racist remark about former presidential aide Valerie Jarrett, who is black.

*First Wanda Sykes said she was no longer a part of ABC’s hit Roseanne revival following Roseanne Barr‘s racist tweet, the network has canceled the show.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” president of ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey announced in a statement Tuesday.

Sara Gilbert publicly denounced her costar, and several other celebrities called on ABC to cancel the show.

Gilbert tweeted “I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.”

Previously Rosanne said she quit Twitter after she received backlash

“Don’t feel sorry for me, guys!!-I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet,” Barr tweeted. “I will be on Joe Rogan’s podcast friday.”

“Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible [sic]. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please,” she also tweeted.

In a now-deleted tweet, Barr also wrote an apology to Jarrett, writing, “@ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you. I am very sorry to have hurt you. I hope you can accept this sincere apology!”

That didn't take long. ABC has cancelled Roseanne.

The news comes after some racially insensitive remarks star Roseanne Barr made this weekend. She called former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett a product of the "Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes." Although Rosanne deleted the tweet and apologized, it wasn't enough to save the show.

ABC had renewed the sitcom for a 13-episode seventh season this fall. (Variety)
