Earlier this week the Public Defender's Office said footage from a November traffic stop shows officers coming up empty while searching a car, but finding drugs after the cameras were turned off for 30-minutes. Heed Those Warnings About Fake Eclipse Sunglasses-

Experts are warning people about buying eclipse glasses online.

The American Astronomical Society is advising buyers to beware of fake glasses being sold ahead of the total solar eclipse. The society says the phony glasses and handheld solar viewers are stamped with the ISO logo and may look real. But they don't have proper filters that block all of the Sun's harmful rays. Glasses that appear hazy, out of focus or not dark enough should be tossed out. Also, true solar filters will only allow you to see solar light through them, If you see an indoor light…the glasses are no good.

The society has a list of trusted vendors and tips on safely viewing the upcoming eclipse on its website. NASA has also posted several safety tips for viewing.

The full solar eclipse will be visible across the country on August 21.Source: Geekwire

Father Of Afghan Robotics Team Captain Is Killed By ISIS-

The 14-year-old captain of the Afghan robotics team is "angry and grieving" after her father was killed by ISIS Tuesday.

The all-female team gained worldwide attention and support when they tried to enter the U.S. in July for an international robotics contest but had their visa applications turned down. The team was finally granted entry after their story went viral. Their coach now says a suicide bombing at a mosque in Afghanistan claimed the life of the team captain's father.

The coach told "Al Jazeera" that 14-year-old Fatemah "is very angry and is not eating or speaking to anyone," and that "she is going through a very difficult time." The Afghan robotics team won a silver medal at the event in Washington, DC, for "courageous achievement." Fatemah said in an interview last month that her father was her greatest support.

At least 32 people were killed and 60 injured in the attack.
