TRENDIN' Celebs & Their First Big Splurge

“Star Wars” Actor Get A Street Named After Him-San Diego is paying tribute to the man who brought life to Luke Skywalker in the original "Star Wars" movie.

Street signs that honor Mark Hamill were unveiled yesterday afternoon in the city's Clairemont community. Hamill spent his middle and high school years in the area while his father served as a U.S. Navy officer. The actor is recognized with signs located in the 59-hundred block of Castleton Drive, his old neighborhood.

The actor was touched by the gesture. "Part of me is honored because the community reached out to make me a part of something I've wanted for so long - a sense of place. I don't really have a hometown, but if I could pick a hometown it would certainly be San Diego."

In addition to starring in several "Star Wars" films, Hamill also provided the voice of The Joker in several "Batman" animated productions.
