Study: It’s Okay To Drink A Little-
People who drink moderate amounts of alcohol have a lower risk of diabetes than people who hardly ever drink; so says a new study. Researchers in Denmark found that people who have a few drinks three to four times a week have the lowest risk of developing diabetes. Wine was found to be more beneficial and gin was found to possible increase diabetes chances in women.
An Indianapolis police officer was shot and killed Thursday afternoon while responding to the scene of a car crash. Police say the officer responded to a call that was a car accident with occupants trapped inside. When he arrived, someone inside the car fired multiple shots at him. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
*Donald Trump's new communications director Anthony Scaramucci doesn't officially begin his job until next month, but he's already making plenty of noise. Scaramucci's appointment has already led to the departure of White House press secretary Sean Spicer and now the newcomer seems to be going after chief strategist Steve Bannon and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus [pr: rynce PRE-bus].
Russian Sanctions Bill Is Headed To Trump’s Desk-
A new Russia sanctions bill is heading to President Trump's desk, but it's unclear whether he'll sign it. The Senate voted overwhelmingly to punish Russia for its meddling in the U.S. election. Only two senators voted against it. The bill also includes measures that limit the president's ability to ease sanctions. It has additional sanctions against Iran and North Korea. The House passed the bill earlier this week. The House passed the measure 419-3 and the Senate vote was 98-2.
