*The Missouri House approves police protections. The House passed a proposal that expands the punishments for crimes like voluntary manslaughter, trespassing and rioting. Supports say its sends a message of support to law enforcement. Concerns against the bill said it could be used to unfairly punish protesters but they say if the protests are peaceful it wouldn't be an issue.
*After weeks of continuing threats targeting Jewish people and their community centers, President Trump spoke out Tuesday about the rise of anti-Semitism this year in the U.S., calling it "horrible" and "painful."Trump made the comments during a visit to the National Museum of African-American History and Culture a day after a Jewish cemetery in University City, Missouri was vandalized and 11 bomb threats were called in to Jewish community centers across the U.S.
*President Trump's plan to tighten up immigration enforcement was laid out in a new set of orders released by the Department of Homeland Security yesterday. Previously, only undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of a crime were targeted. While they remain a top priority, the new plan calls for agents to find, apprehend and deport all undocumented immigrants they come across. This means the majority of the country's 11 million undocumented immigrants now face the risk of deportation.
