*The U-city Police Department is investigating to find out who vandalized a Jewish cemetary. Dozens of headstones were knocked over.  Police did not specify if they considered this a hate crime. It is believed there was some organization behind the crime & not just one person.  The tombstones vandalized are in an older section of the cemetery; much of which pre-date 1960.

*A man in Riverview was trying to burn moles away and ended up setting his neighbors house on fire.  The fire spread quickly from the front yard to the back yard. There were no injuries.

*A Missouri Senate Committee will tackle the "Bathroom Bill" controversy Tuesday, February 21st.Senate Bill 98 is styled after the contentious North Carolina law which requires individuals to use the bathroom based on the gender listed on their birth certificate. The North Carolina bill involved all government buildings, however, the Missouri proposal would only apply to public schools with students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Similar bills are being considered in 11 other states

NATIONAL:

*An investigation is underway into a security breach at JFK Airport in New York after 11 passengers were able to walk through an unmanned TSA checkpoint without being screened. The breach occurred at around 6 a.m. yesterday.  Three of the 11 people that passed through the security line unnoticed even set off the metal detector. Those three passengers were seen on surveillance footage and all boarded the same Jet Blue flight to San Francisco. They were all searched shortly after the arrived. Authorities are still working to identify the other eight passengers who boarded different flights.

*President Trump's oldest daughter Ivanka called for "religious tolerance" on Monday after Jewish community centers in the U.S. were hit with another wave of bomb threats.  Ivanka, who converted to Judaism, tweeted, "America is a nation built on the principle of religious tolerance.  We must protect our houses of worship & religious centers. #JCC."  The tweet came after 11 different bomb threats were phoned into Jewish community centers across the U.S.  It's the latest batch of threats that have occurred at least three previous times since the beginning of the year.  Ivanka converted to Judaism prior to her wedding to Jared Kushner, who is an Orthodox Jew.

*Five kids trying to take a selfie were rescued Monday evening after falling into an ice-covered pond at Central Park in New York.The kids, who ranged in ages from 10 to 15, fell into the water after they posed for a photo on what they thought was solid ice.They were rescued by two good Samaritans and later firefighters and police officers helped pull the youngsters from the icy water at about 5:50 p.m.The five kids and the two citizen rescuers were treated for hypothermia at the scene, according the fire department.

*Former Major League outfielder Jordan Schafer is trying to make the 2017 Cardinals roster as an outfielder and pitcher as well. Schafer took up pitching last year in the minor leagues. He has played in the majors as an outfielder with the Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins.
