There’s A Recall On Store Brand Infant Ibuprofen -

Infant ibuprofen sold at several major retailers is being recalled because it might be dangerous to babies.

The recall affects medications sold under Walmart, CVS, and Family Dollar brands. The pain relievers are labeled to contain 50 milligrams of ibuprofen, but the company that makes them says the dosage could be higher. The company says there's a "remote possibility" that could lead to permanent kidney injury in infants. The company is recalling the pain meds voluntarily and says it hasn't had any reports of children becoming sick.

The product was packaged in 0.5 oz. bottles and labeled "Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension." Walmart sells the product under the "Equate" label; CVS sells it under the "CVS Health" label and Family Dollar sells it under the "Family Wellness" label.

U.S. Diplomatic Post Reopens In Somalia -

The U.S. is reestablishing a permanent diplomatic presence in Somalia for the first time in 28 years.

That was when the embassy was shuttered amid a violent civil war in the East African nation. The State Department said Tuesday that the move reflects the progress Somalia has made in recent years. The country is still often embroiled in violence, but the capital, Mogadishu, has become somewhat more stable.

The embassy shuttered in 1991 and operations ran from Kenya. Ambassador Donald Yamamoto is heading the embassy in Mogadishu

North Carolina Congressional Race Not Certified Due To Possible Voter Fraud -

A North Carolina Congressional race that election officials refuse to certify may be marred by voter fraud.

That’s why the largest newspaper in North Carolina is calling for a new election in the uncertified Ninth Congressional race. The “Charlotte Observer” said troubling details of voter fraud has forced it to conclude the board that oversees elections should call for a new vote. The Republican leads the race by about 900 votes.

The board last week refused to certify the results because an unusually high number of absentee ballots were not returned in Bladen County. There are also residents who have sworn statements that someone came to their homes to collect their ballots.

Now the Board is issuing subpoenas to the Harris campaign and others over the issue. The main focus of the investigation focuses on McCrae Dowless, a Bladen County political operative contracted by Red Dome Group, a North Carolina-based political consultancy group. Red Dome got more than 400-thousand dollars from the Harris campaign and witnesses say they were paid by Dowless to illegally collect absentee ballots in the district.

A hearing on the matter must be held by December 21, according to election laws.

U.S. Navy Destroyer Sails Through Sea Of Japan Waters Claimed By Russia -

The Cold War seems to be back on.

U.S. Navy destroyer USS Campbell crossed through part of Peter the Great Bay, which Russia has laid claim to since the Cold War. The vessel sailed the waters as part of its “freedom of navigation operation.” according to the Navy’s Pacific Fleet Command.

Navy Lt. Rachel McMarr, a Pacific Fleet spokesperson, said in a statement "McCampbell sailed in the vicinity of Peter the Great Bay to challenge Russia's excessive maritime claims and uphold the rights, freedoms, and lawful uses of the sea enjoyed by the United States and other Nations."

The operation, the first to cross those waters since 1987, is the latest situation to add to building tension between Moscow and Washington. Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said of the U.S. pulled out of the INF treaty and built nukes, it would follow suit.
