I came across an EW article this morning "Connie Nielsen shares her wildest Gladiator memories and where things stand on the sequel" and was a bit shocked when I read, "In honor of the film's 20th anniversary..." Wow, twenty years. Time does seem to go faster as I get older. The film, staring Russel Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen and Richard Harris, came out in May of 2000. Reflecting on the film made me realize it's been a while since we've had a good historical film on this scale. The article from EW is a great interview with Connie Nielsen. Read it here. And, watch, what has to be the best scene of the movie below, when Maximus reveals himself to Commodus. Or, some may prefer the "Are you not entertained?" clip. Might have to watch the movie this weekend. It doesn't look like it's available on Netflix but you can rent it on YouTube or Amazon.
