Top 10 Songs to Help You Feel Less Stressed

Working from home has it's good days and it's bad days. It often feels like a roller coaster of emotions. The good side, not having a commute. No traffic stress. Spending less money with no impulse shopping. The bad side, missing people. Miss chatting with coworkers by the coffee pot in the break room. Miss lunch out with friends. I realize these are not real problems. I'm fortunate to be healthy. To have a job to do everyday. But, sometimes the headlines are stressful. The worry for family. The fear about the economy. These things can feel overwhelming. When I get stressed out I've been seeking out music that calms me down, lets me tune out the news, reminds me of good times. It got me to thinking about what my top 10 relaxing songs would be. Just as I'm thinking about making a playlist, I came across this article from SELF, "8 New Anxiety Coping Mechanisms I’m Trying Right Now" and one of them is "I listen to music that evokes nostalgia." I call this kismet. This article is what I needed to read right now. I thought I would share my list with you. Here's my list below, along with videos for each song. Share your list too!

  • Linda Ronstadt - Blue Bayou
  • Journey - Faithfully
  • Carpenters - Rainy Days and Mondays
  • Billy Joel - Vienna
  • Chicago - Will You Still Love Me?
  • Kenny Loggins - Return to Pooh Corner
  • Wynonna - Only Love
  • Christopher Cross - Sailing
  • Bryan Adams - Run To You
  • Huey Lewis & The News - The Power Of Love

I could add 100 songs to this list. Especially after reading everyone's comments on Facebook. You keep reminding me of songs I forgot. One of my favorite stations is Sunny Radio on iHeartRadio. They play all of those songs you remember from the 70s and 80s that weren't on the pop list. Easy listening at its finest.
