Jinger Duggar Mom-Shamed So Ruthlessly She Disabled Comments

When celebrities post photos on Instagram, they usually receive tons of compliments but there's also usually an occasional troll who emerges to throw some shade their way as well. Well for Jinger Duggar, it seems she gets more than her share of haters. In fact, it's surprising she and her husband Jeremy Vuolo are still posting pics considering that in just the past few weeks, she's been mom-shamed for putting a bow on her baby daughter Felicity and he's been criticized for letting Felicity look at a laptop screen.

Then, on Sunday, the star of TLC's Counting On put up an innocent picture of little Felicity sweetly sleeping in a bassinet, and was so ruthlessly mom-shamed that she had to disable the comments.

This time, the negative feedback centered on the mittens the new parents put on their child, who was born in mid-July. Mittens protect babies from scratching their faces with their sharp tiny fingernails. It's something some parents choose to do, and others don't. Some doctors have no issue with the it and others feel a baby's ability to explore things with their fingers is important for their development. As Jinger learned, there were some vocal commenters against the practice.

They wrote things like, "Those mitts are so stupid," "They need to self soothe and they can't with those mitts...get them off. They aren't going to take their eyes out," "Free the hands! Better for her development," and "Can't babies suck on their hands anymore?"

As usual, Jinger's fans had her back, defending her choices and lashing out at the trolls, saying that parents can make their own decisions. Regardless, she was so upset by the backlash that within three hours of posting the picture, she got rid of all the comments and disabled them on the post.

Of course, had Jinger posted a photo of Felicity without mittens, she likely would've gotten mom-shamed for not protecting the baby's face.
