The FDA Drops The Hammer On Kid Targeted Vape Liquid Packaging -

The FDA is reeling in the e cigarette industry because they say they are illegally marketing to children. Lately there’s been a flood of e-liquid containers that are too easy to confuse for juice boxes, candy, and even cookies. Letters went out to the e-liquid sellers warning them to back this trend up. Some of the packaging was a blatant attempt to look like a brand, like Oreos, Redi Whip, Sour Patch Kids and more.

Nicotine is highly toxic and could easily be injured by drinking the liquid. There were 8,269 liquid nicotine exposures among children under 6 reported to U.S. poison control centers between January 2012 and April 2017. Two children have died.

The outbreak has been reported in 25 states now, and 52 people have been hospitalized with 14 suffering kidney failure. An investigation is ongoing into the exact source of the lettuce.
