Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might still harbor some "ill will" toward co-star Vin Diesel -- but he insists they've reached an understanding.
The action stars feuded on and off the set of The Fate of the Furious, with The Rock seemingly calling out Diesel in a 2016 Instagram. "Some [male costars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professions, while others don’t," the Jumanji star wrote.
Now he tells Rolling Stone, “Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarify. Whether we work together again or not.”
He added, “I wish him all the best and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have. Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll just keep it with the clarity.”
The Rolling Stone interview also revealed that The Rock has been taking “under-the-radar” meetings with political experts. The actor, who said last year that he was thinking about running for president, says, “Republicans, Democrats, independents, mayors, strategists, you name it. Just soaking in and listening… I feel like the best thing I can do now is — give me years. Let me go to work and learn.”
