Adopt a Kenny Chesney Rescue Dog at Stray Rescue!
It’s an effort literally fueled by country music super star Kenny Chesney! 138 dogs and cats displaced by Hurricane Irma were flown from Saint John & Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to Florida and then 14 of those dogs were driven to Stray Rescue of St. Louis!
Kenny Chesney, whose home in Saint John was destroyed by Hurricane Irma, paid for the fuel in the private jet that flew the animals to Florida. This is the 3rd time Chesney has helped rescue animals from the island as many families had to flee as the Category 5 hurricanes approached. Chesney has since been a silent hero who has helped the people and animals. He has sent planes down to the islands several times bringing people and animals food, water and more to help the area rebuild.
Stray Rescue Executive Director, Cassady Caldwell, heard about the need and reached out to Chesney to help! The 14 dogs arrived last weekend and were given medical care and many went to foster homes and are now available for adoption at www.StrayRescue.org
Caldwell lived on Saint Thomas for years so it holds a special place in her heart. She has been helping puppies there for the past couple of years. Once the hurricanes hit she knew Stray Rescue would step up to help in whatever way they could! Caldwell is also connected to the music industry as her late father & other family members are a part of legendary music group “The Marshall Tucker Band”.
Kenny Chesney started a foundation to help with relief efforts, find out more or donate here:
