Which One Direction Bandmate Had The Biggest Selling Single Of 2017?

2017 saw One Direction make history with each of the five original members finding solo success and producing Top 40 hits, but it's only expected that the solo success of Harry Styles, ZAYN, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson be compared to one another.

In Nielsen Music's 2017 Year-End Music Report, the One Direction Effect was laid out for readers with each of their respective hits: "Sign Of The Times," "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with Taylor Swift, "Slow Hands," "Strip That Down" featuring Quavo and "Back To You" featuring Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals

Taking the top spot for the 2017 year was the always-elusive ZAYN with his Swift collaboration snagging 1.4 million in song sales and 350 million on-demand streams. After the Grammy-nominated "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," the comparisons between song sales and on-demand streams comes relatively close between Horan and Payne. While Horan's mid-tempo "Slow Hands" took in 1 million in sales and 214.5 million on-demand streams, Payne's" dance pop-charged "Strip That Down" brought 805,000 in sales and 251.7 million on-demand streams. Meanwhile, Tomlinson's guest-heavy "Back To You" gathered 122.4 in sales with 109.2 million on-demand streams. Styles' pop-rock-charged "Sign Of The Times" sold 594,000 in sales and was streamed 182 million times via on-demand services. As a pact, One Direction previously broke history as the first boy band since The Beatles to have three members reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart with solo albums. With all of the bandmates currently on the road, working on new music or making the rounds with their current singles, we can only look ahead at an even more successful year for Harry, ZAYN, Niall, Liam and Louis!
