A man accidentally shot himself and his wife inside a Tennessee church yesterday (Thursday) as the congregation discussed whether people should have the right to bring a gun to church.

Churchgoers were talking about the deadly shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas earlier this month when a man in his 80s began advocating for his right to carry a gun in church. He said, "I carry my handgun everywhere" and then showed it to everyone. He apparently forgot it was loaded and he accidentally fired a round which sliced his hand and struck his wife in the abdomen. They were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed. (New York Daily News)

Keystone Pipeline Spill Causes Shutdown-

Workers are taking the Keystone oil pipeline offline after it spilled more than 200-thousand gallons of oil in South Dakota.

A crew shut down the pipeline yesterday after detecting the leak approximately 35 miles south of a pumping station in Marshall County, South Dakota. TransCanada, the company that operates the pipeline, is working with state officials and the Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration to assess the damage. The spill was detected yesterday morning. Earlier this year, President Trump signed a permit allowing the pipeline to transport more than 800-thousand barrels of oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska, cutting through South Dakota. State regulators in South Dakota approved construction permits for the pipeline, and regulators in Nebraska are set to make a decision on the construction next week.

The emergency response plan created by the pipeline company, state and local officials, along with emergency personnel was activated and so far no oil has contaminated waterways.

U.S. Slams Russia For No Vote On Syria Chemical Weapons Investigation-

Nikki Haley is giving Russia a piece of her mind.

The U.S. is slamming Russia for vetoing a UN Security Council resolution that would've renewed an investigation into chemical weapons attacks in Syria. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley says Russia's message is that it accepts that use of chemical weapons in Syria. She also said the world can't believe that Russia actually wants peace in the war-torn country.

Russia has been a staunch ally of Syria President Bashar al-Assad in the country's six-year civil war. It was the 10th time Russia, a key Syrian ally, has vetoed a UN draft resolution on Syria since the civil war began there in 2011.

The UN Security Council will meet in a closed door meeting this morning to create a compromise resolution. Japan has also submitted its won proposal.

Jared Kushner Is Under Congress’ Microscope-

The son-in-law of the president will have to answer to the Senate.

Senate Judiciary Committee wants more information from White House senior advisor Jared Kushner as part of their Russian meddling probe. Republican committee chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein [[ FINE-stine ]] of California sent a letter to Kushner's lawyer demanding additional documents from President Trump's son-in-law about his contacts with WikiLeaks.

The letter also demands documents related to Kushner’s security clearance and gives a deadline of November 27.

The committee is also seeking an email about a "Russian backdoor overture" and dinner invitation Kushner forwarded to another Trump campaign official. The senators disclosed that Kushner failed to turn over the documents requested last month by the committee. Kushner is also a person of interest in other investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
