*The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane warning for the Texas coast.

Harvey is currently located about 370 miles off the Gulf coast and has been upgraded to a tropical storm. It is expected to strengthen into a category-one hurricane tomorrow just before making landfall around Corpus Christi. The warning covers the entire Gulf coast of Texas as Harvey is expected to bring a large storm surge. Forecasters expect the storm to stall once it moves into Texas, which would bring a lot of raining and a high risk of flooding.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster for 30 counties, authorizing the use of state resources to prepare for the storm.

Ryan Is Not In Step With The White House On Shutdown-

The Speaker of the House is distancing himself from some controversial Donald Trump rhetoric.

Paul Ryan says shutting down the federal government to pay for a border wall is a bit rash. Ryan was reacting to President Trump's threat in Phoenix this week that he would shut the government down if Congress fails to include funding for his promised border wall.

Ryan says he's asking the President to give Congress more time to fund the wall through what he calls regular order. Congress has passed legislation to fund border security improvements, including parts of the wall, but hasn't okayed the full funding Trump requested.

“There are very legitimate problems and concerns on the border that need to be addressed,” Ryan said, but “we’re going to need more time to complete our appropriations process, especially in the Senate.”
