Rob Lowe Feeds Firefighters Battling Wildfires-
As California is in the midst of a wildfire outbreak, one star is grateful for the heroes on the front lines.
Rob Lowe’s home is threatened by the massive Thomas Fire and in appreciation for the fire crews trying to spare homes from the flames, the actor fed a bunch of them. It was a nice break from the around-the-clock battle.
And props to Lowe for also stepping up to pick up a hose and help out. In the photo of the actor shooting water at the flames, he said "Helping earlier today," he wrote alongside the shot from Saturday. "You do what you can, but when it’s time.. you GO."
For the second straight day, Matt Damon spoke about Hollywood's sexual assault problem and put his foot in his mouth.
Damon’s career was built by disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. So Business Insider asked Damon would he become more cautious with who he collaborated. Damon replied, (quote) “One thing that’s not being talked about is there are a whole load of guys — the preponderance of men I’ve worked with — who don’t do this kind of thing.”
The #MeToo movement doesn’t want to hear Damon talk about the good guys. They actually don’t want to hear Damon at all. Cher tweeted, (quote) “Matt Damon is the epitome of a faux ally whose performative wokeness is more about servicing his own ego than the needs of the oppressed & disenfranchised.”
One film critic alluded to Damon’s movie The Martian when tweeted, (quote) “For real though, should have left Matt Damon on Mars.”
Debra Messing said, (quote) “How about we NOT celebrate men who are simply decent human beings. Stay on track, Matt. It’s not about you.”
Rachel Evan Wood simply pleaded on Twitter, (quote) “Stop talking.”
Talk About It:
- Matt Damon is talking because he’s promoting a movie called Downsizing that arrives on Friday.
- His comments may negatively impact ticket sales. Lots of women could protest with their pocketbook.
- A few social media comments sounded crude, such as “If you are a good man, you don't seek accolades for not being a rapey bastard.”
- There was also “Hi ladies, can we all stop chatting about our #metoo stories. Matt Damon wants us so to thank all the men who haven't assaulted us for not assaulting us.”
