We've heard a lot about the stray dogs roaming the streets of Sochi, Russia, during the Olympic Games. We also know that the "solution" had originally been extermination of the dogs. Public outcry -- and a Russian billionaire -- changed that, with dogs being collected and taken to a makeshift shelter.
This week, we also learned that a soft-hearted American Olympian is helping the cause. Slopestyle skiier Gus Kenworthy, has been Tweeting about a "gang of stray puppies." He is planning to have them immunized, kenneled and brought back to the U.S. with him.

Also, a Russian billionaire is funding a makeshift dog shelter outside the Olympic grounds. He adopted a stray dog as a child and the memory stayed with him.
