*Showers this morning becoming less numeous this afternoon!
*I'd like to send a big YOU ROCK to St. Clair County & Madison County, they have voted to go no-kill. Under a no-kill policy, the only animals euthanized would be those too sick to be saved or too vicious to be adopted, not animals who are perfectly adoptable that are euthanized because no one has come to adopt them in time.
*The Gateway Pet Guardians dog shelter will have human residents along with dog ones this weekend. Tonight at 6pm through Saturday at 6pm, 13 shelter staff and volunteers will spend 24 hours in the shelter in kennels with the shelter dogs who already live there. The whole thing will be LIVE on Facebook.
*2 men were killed while working for Laclede Gas yesterday. Police say a gunman walked up to them and shot them and then turned the gun on himself. Police are still investigating why. Laclede Gas and Ameren Missouri pulled workers from the streets for the rest of the day as a precaution.
*Elizabeth Thomas, the 15-year-old Tennessee student missing with her 50-year-old lovestruck teacher since mid-March, was found safe and sound halfway across the country, in a rural cabin in northern California today (Thursday). The teacher, Tad Cummins, was arrested. The rescue came about after a California man phoned police to say he'd seen the car the two were said to be traveling in. Cummins is in a California jail, awaiting extradition to Tennessee. He faces at least 10 years in jail if convicted.
*The St. Louis Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at 7:10am at Miller Park
*St. Louis Blues take on the Minnesota Wild in Game 5 tomorrow in Minnesota
You might say Billy grew up in St. Louis. No, he wasn't born or raised here but he did move to town twenty-two years ago (at the ripe old age of 21). In that time he's lived everywhere from Lafayette Square to South City, Chesterfield, St. Charles, Lake St. Louis and now Edwardsville. He spends most of his spare time playing with his newest addition, baby Jack! Or, watching his 17 year old son, Grant, playing sports for the Dragons of St. Mary's. He and his wife Melissa also love finding great new restaurants to try out and enjoy spending time at home with their two little shih Tzus, Lexi and Dallas. Life is definitely good in The Lou.
Julie Tristan is a St.Louisan born & raised! She grew up in the Creve Coeur area and went to Pattonville High School. She's a huge dog lover and has 5 furry kids of her own. She spends her free time volunteering at dog shelters in town like Stray Rescue and the Gateway Pet Guardians!
