Peter Tork, bassist with The Monkees has passed away.
His sister confirmed his death with a post that read: “It is with beyond-heavy and broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our friend, mentor, teacher, and amazing soul, Peter Tork, has passed from this world.”
Ten years ago, he was diagonosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma, cancer that affects the tongue.
Peter Tork was the oldest of the Monkees and got the part for the Television show because he was better looking than Stephen Stills, who also auditioned for the show.
Tork, played bass and keyboards for the Monkees.
Peter Tork was 77.
