Known for their unique blend of style, sophistication, sass and sex appeal, female pop/R&B super group, En Vogue, dominated the music scene during the 1990’s with a string of smash hits, including “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Free Your Mind,” and “Whatta Man.” Over the course of the decade, the group sold 8 million albums, setting a new standard for all future female R&B and pop acts.
In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, En Vogue lost original members Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones due to internal differences within the group, but the remaining group members, Cindy Herron-Braggs and Terry Ellis, forged on. Ellis and Braggs continued to record and perform, and worked to revamp the group by adding new member Rhona Barrett.
Today, the trio’s appeal is greater than ever before. In recent years, they have performed at the Super Bowl and the Kentucky Derby, visited and performed at a number of U.S. military bases in Iraq and spent 2012 touring the globe. Having grown musically, emotionally and creatively, the ladies believe each day is a living affirmation.
Thanks to the generous support of presenting sponsor Anheuser-Busch InBev, platinum sponsors Edward Jones, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Nestle Purina, all Fair Saint Louis shows will be presented to the community for free and will be open to all ages.
